eGroup April Forum - The SEQTA Story with Grant and Sharon Grosser!

17:30 – 20:30 05-04-2016
WRAYS, 56 Ord Street, West Perth

Hi Everyone!

For our eGroup April forum next Tuesday, we have Grant & Sharon Grosser from SEQTA!

Grant and Sharon Grosser, both former teachers, are co-founders of Saron Education, T/A SEQTA Software. Grant and Sharon will share SEQTA’s journey, of a startup that became highly successful and now a company employing over 60 dedicated staff, with satellite offices in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Singapore and providing solutions in over 420 schools for more than 22,000 teachers in every state and territory of Australia, as well as recently entering the international education market.

Having quit his ‘safe’ job of Deputy Principal at a large K-12 private school, Grant literally stepped off a cliff when he took the decision to start a business to help teachers, his only parachute being the idea that had the potential to revolutionise teachers’ workloads. And Sharon wasn’t about to be just a passenger! She was actively involved from the start, and played a crucial role in establishing the culture that exists at SEQTA.

In this, the 10th year of SEQTA, Grant and Sharon tell their story candidly, reflecting on the successes, the mistakes, the personal challenges and sharing insights into the rough and tumble of startup land.

SEQTA’s software is already making a real impact for teachers and communities in over 420 schools, with over 22,000 teachers using the software on a daily basis.  The company aims for every teacher, student and parent in all Australian schools to have access to, and experience the benefits of the SEQTA Suite. Having recently established a presence in Singapore, SEQTA is also expecting significant growth from the South East Asian market. In addition to its existing software arm, SEQTA Professional Services (SPS), a newly established subsidiary of SEQTA, was launched in January 2016. SPS offer a range of training programmes that aim to provide users of the SEQTA Suite with a well-rounded understanding of the software, and accredited certification.

Celebrating 10 years since its inception in 2006, the SEQTA team now numbers around 60 employees in their Joondalup office and has satellite offices in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Singapore. The team is expected to grow substantially and Joondalup will remain the hub of what will become a significant international business. Planning is currently underway for SEQTA’s first National Conference, to be held at the stunning Joondalup Resort in 2017.
